To answer one of the legendary questions in football: WHO ARE YOU?
We are the Norwegian Tykes and this is our home page! The aim of this website is to support, promote and benefit Barnsley Football Club, in Norway, Scandinavia and of course the rest of the world (hey – get a dictionary!).
So in case you haven´t guessed yet, Norwegian Tykes is Barnsley FCs supporter club in Norway. You might be suprised that such a thing exists, but Barnsley Football Club has had supporters in Norway for decades. Some born here, some ex-pats living in Norway.
The supporter club has been up and running since August 2006. We know we can never compete against supporter clubs for “bigger” and more well known clubs, but that´s not the point. Our aim is to be a little community on the net and in the the real world for Barnsley fans living in Norway. We are proud to support one of the the real clubs within English football, a down to earth and honest club that plays a big part in a lot of peoples lives, including ours.
For the 2006/2007 season we are shirt sponsors for Bobby Hassell. It is our intention to continue sponsoring players and bring much needed income to the club.
This website is devided into several sections: About the club (“om klubben”), the fans (you´ve probably guessed it – “Om fansen”!), about the town (“om byen”), about the link with Brazil (“Brasil”) – just to mention a few.
The aim is to give an introduction to Barnsley Football Club, it´s history and fans, and also the town with suggestions on how to get there, where to stay and what to do (apart from the football).
All work on this site is done with pride, passion and enthusiasm. However this is something we do in our sometimes very limited spare time, so please bear over with any faults or shortcomings. The creators of the site are fans of BFC, but do not represent the club in any ”official” ways. Sue us – not them.
